ABOUT BARNES BOOKFEST
Barnes has a long history of nurturing its thriving literary and arts community and the Barnes BookFest continues this tradition. It was initiated and organised by the Friends of St Mary’s Barnes and Magic Productions with The Barnes Bookshop. The event seeks to bring bestselling writers and exciting new authors to Barnes to talk about a diverse range of subjects, giving an insight into the way they work and the subjects that fascinate them.
The inaugural festival in 2021 was an incredible weekend of talks and screenings, with three days of sell-out literary events. Speakers included Gyles Brandreth, Sir Michael Morpurgo, Ursula Buchan, Hadley Freeman, Andrew Graham-Dixon, Victoria Dowd, Sebastian Faulks, Richard Harries, Simon Heffer, Rukmini Iyer, Anya de Jager, Lord Patten of Barnes, Hayley Mills, Edwin Mullins, Bernard O’Keeffe, Alice Ross, Laura Shepherd Robinson and Ian Williams.
Barnes BookFest is supported by the Barnes Community Association (BCA),
Barnes Literary Society and Screen Your Story.
We are proud to be sponsored by
the leading independent property company in Barnes.
